When you aren't on a trip with John T Hall Striper Guide Service and if you're willing to spend more time in Arkansas, there are a host of places in the Hot Springs region that you can visit such as horse racing venues, casinos, Mid-American museums, theme parks, and shopping avenues.
Stripers, a saltwater species of bass, swim upriver when they need to spawn, much like salmons. While stripers don't reproduce in freshwater, they do end up completing their lifecycle in freshwater because of which you'll be able to find a large number of such species in Arkansas waters.
Rated as the cleanest lake in the US and known for its pristine waters and exotic beauty, Lake Ouachita is Arkansas' largest lake and is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest. This man-made lake boasts a vast area of 45,000 acres along with 1000 miles of shoreline and 200 islands.
The other man-made lake in the Hot Springs region is Lake Hamilton. This lake is more than 18 miles in length and covers approximately 7200 acres. Two record-sized stripers were caught from this lake in the past few years.
